01

DAY 1. Arrival to Palakkad from Coimbatore (63.4 km - 1 hr 34 mins)

  • Nearest airport: Coimbatore International Airport
  • Nearest railway station: Palakkad Railway Station
  • On the way to Palakkad you will get to witness innumerable scenic beauty of lush foliage.

On arrival, check-into your lodge and after some rest and food pull up your socks for sightseeing at Palakkad.

DAY 2. Palakkad to Athirapally (112 km - 2 hrs 11 mins)

On the 2nd day of your trip, check out from your hotel after breakfast and head towards Athirapally in the morning. It lies in the district of Thrissur. Once done with the checking-in formalities leave for local sightseeing. The Athirapally Waterfalls is the foremost tourist attraction here. There are several other places to visit near the waterfall such as Vazhachal Waterfalls, Charpa Waterfalls, Malakkapara Tea Estates, Thumboormuzhi Dam and Hanging bridge, Illithode Eco Tourist Spot, Sholayar Penstock Pipe Viewpoint, Ezhattumugham, Peechi Dam, Sholayar Dam, Chimmini Dam & Wildlife Sanctuary, Silver Storm Water Theme Park, Kodanad Elephant Training Center, Muziris Lakeshore Park & Boating, Munakkal Beach and Muniyattukunnu Hillock.

Return back to your hotel after the sightseeing. Overnight stay at Athirapally.

DAY 3. Athirapally to Alleppey (112 kms - 3 hrs 11 mins)

Alleppey is the long awaited destination for most tourists. The backwater paradise of Kerala, Alleppey’s visit-must include a stay in the houseboats. You can choose among the overnight stays, or a short stay ranging from 2 hours to 6 hours in the houseboats. Start a little early from Athirapally to make the most out of the day at Alleppey.

Enjoy the stay and cruising on the Kerela backwaters with majestic sights along the banks along with the mouthwatering traditional cuisines served fresh in the houseboats.

If you have planned an overnight stay then on the 4th day morning you’ll check out from the houseboat and transfer to Kovalam. However, if your stay in the houseboats lasts for a few hours then you can explore some f the places at Alleppey among Vembanad Lake, Alleppey Beach, Marari Beach, Krishnapuram Palace, Pathiramanal, Kuttanad Backwaters, Arthunkal Church, Ambalapuzha Temple, Mannarasala Temple, Karumadikuttan Statue and St. Mary Forane Church.

DAY 4. Alleppey to Kovalam (159 kms - 4 hrs 22 mins)

Check out from Alleppey retreat, reach Kovalam and check-in to your hotel. After a little rest, begin with the day’s sightseeing. Visit Kovalam Beach. You can either sit there to imbibe the tranquillity or indulge in several activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, and jet skiing on the beach.

Other local sightseeing spots at Kovalam are Vellayani Lake, Lighthouse Beach, Chowara Beach, Hawah Beach, Samudra Beach, Shanghumukham Beach, Neyyar Dam, Aruvikkara Dam, Edakallu, Karamana River, Halcyon Castle, Kovalam Art Gallery, Valiyathura Pier, Veli Tourist Village, Artificial Coral Reef, Vizhinjam Rock Cut Temple, Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium, Napier Art Museum and Shri Padmanabhaswamy Temple.

DAY 5. Kovalam to Thiruvananthapuram (20.4 kms - 35 mins)

On the Day 5 of your trip, do not check out from your hotel at Kovalam. After breakfast, head towards sightseeing at Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram). There are so many things to do here, you won't even realise when the activity-filled day will pass by. Your day will be engulfed by beaches, temples, museums, waterfalls, galleries and a few more.

DAY 6. Departure

The magical holiday of 5 nights at Kerala comes to an end. In the morning check-out from your hotel and after having breakfast leave for Trivandrum International Airport (12.4 kms - 18 mins approx) or Trivandrum Central Railway Station (13 kms - 21 mins approx).
